There are various tips for growing your lashes longer and stronger, but for some, going through the extensive list of rituals that those tips require is a little too much for us. Needless to say, most of our readers aren’t going to have time or the patience to sit in front of the mirror for hours a day going through layers of products every day.
If you’re anything like me and you can go all day just wearing some BB cream, mascara, and lipstick, you probably struggle putting on mascara and making it stay like it should. If that’s not the issue, it’s easier not getting it right on the crease and hoping against all hope that it won’t smear horribly.
So in an effort to help all our fellow makeup fans, here’s a few mascara tips and tricks that’ll help you get those gorgeous lashes some all day lasting effects without the mishaps.
Using lash conditioners can help protect your lashes and keep them strong, as well as helping them grow out longer.
Your lashes are a bit like your hair and even a little extra attention like lash conditioners is going to help them get longer and stronger.
Heat your curler. Think of it like a curling iron: it’s going to help keep your lashes curled all day. Just heat your curler for 10 seconds. (Note: Please don’t use actual flame to do this. Use hot water. Which leads us to step three!)
Soak your mascara wand in warm water. Not only will it help loosen dry mascara, it’ll go on more smooth and with more consistency of formula. This also makes it easier to work with.
Scrape off the excess formula from the brush. This will keep you from getting too much on your lashes and help avoid getting clumps.
You can also use a lash comb instead of the traditional spool. Applying your mascara’s formula to the lash comb will help add volume to your lashes without overdoing it.
Use business cards or post-it notes to avoid getting mascara formula on your crease or below your eyes.
The importance of tightlining: tightlining adds the illusion of longer, more voluminous lashes.
How to Tightline Your Eyes
– Using clean fingers, gently lift your lashes up to better see the gap in your lashes.
